Accommodation for D-Day Events in Normandy 2009

We have been asked by a number of readers for accommodation for D-Day Events in Normandy this year; I wish to clarify that whilst our own Normandy Bed and Breakfast accommodation is close enough to the Normandy Landing Beaches for day trips, we are not on the coast and we do not specialise in visitors wanting to visit the D-Day sites – we are actually 90 minutes inland by car, close to Alençon on the border of Normandy and the Pays de la Loire. Also, we are full from end of May to mid-June. We recommend that people looking for accommodation specifically for visiting the D-Day sites and nothing else should contact the Caen, Arromanches and Bayeux tourist offices. But don’t leave it too late!

We are a party of three men on a cycle tour. We require a room(s) for the night of 6th June 2009.

We need to be within 30kms of Caen

    Can you advise?

    Thank you Gerald

    1. A quick note to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for the D-Day events – the people best placed to advise are the local tourist offices. I’ve already mentioned a few.

For others just google ‘office de tourisme’ + the name of the town nearest to where you want to stay.

Alternatively slip me 50 quid and I’ll look it up for you. đŸ™‚
